This weekend's performances

This weekend, I have two great performances happening. I'd love to see faces both familiar and new. A big part of why I perform is meeting all kinds of new people and connecting with those I love. If you're willing, take some of your weekend to be a part of Team Rebecca Day.

This Friday, June 29th, I am performing at Sakana, a cool, new Jacksonville Beach restaurant that is oceanfront. I will be performing on the patio from 6-10 pm. For more info and an RSVP list, click here.

On Saturday, I will be performing at another great outside location, Mellow Mushroom Fleming Island. This venue has been a huge supporter of my songwriting, hosting the release of my debut CD, Now Here, back in February 2012. For more info on this performance, click here.

As always, thanks for reading, have a wonderful weekend, and I hope to see you soon!

Tonight's Show Canceled

It is with deep apology that I am announcing the cancellation of tonight's performance at Nipper's Beach Grille. Tropical Storm Debbie continues to inch close and closer, and an outside performance at the beach may not be the safest situation tonight.

Once again, I do apologize to those who were planning to come out and show their support. Team Rebecca Day was going to have a great crowd out. I would love for you to check out the links below to my performances happening this weekend. I always love having support at my shows. Thank you for your interest in my music and brand. Your presence within Team Rebecca Day is vital and appreciated.

You can check out information for my Friday performance at Sakana here.

Also check out info about my Saturday performance at Mellow Mushroom Fleming Island here.

See you soon!

Media Links

I thought I'd put up a quick post featuring some of the media links in local press that has included me. I have had a wonderful time working with publications in Florida such as Folio Weekly, EU Jacksonville, and Buzz Magazine, who have all graciously allowed me to be a part of their magazines. Because of them, and you, the supporters, my brand is going strong!

EU Jacksonville Interview Live

A couple of days ago, I had the honor of speaking with Aaron Kinney of the EU Jacksonville entertainment publication here in Florida. We had a wonderful time talking all things music. I discussed Rebecca Day Music within the interview, including my performances, CD and recording process, branding and promotion and more.

It's a special thing when an artist sees their name on a site with as much clout at EU. I've read the magazine for years and am proud to be a part of it. I'd love for you to give it a read, and if you're feeling chatty, tell me your thoughts on the interview.

Thanks so much to the local media that has given me the opportunity to share my music with the public.

Book, Music Video, Performances, and More

I haven't been posting quite as much on here lately, I do apologize. My career has been going in so many different directions, I haven't had as much time to post.

I have decided to officially announce that I am in the process of writing a book. It's an account of my journey thus far with music, and it's an educational tool for artist who are aspiring singer, songwriter, performers.

The book is different in the sense that not only is it a written description of my thoughts, but it acts as a sort of scrapbook as well. It's going to be full of pictures of Team Rebecca Day supporters, live music moments, and more. And I am going to have lyrics to my music within the chapters, with notes on the writing process.

I am also putting the top 20 blog posts in the book from this site, that readers have really responded to; one of my favorites being a post about the 'Dal Segno' music symbol that has become a sort of mantra for my life. You can read this post, and get a bit of a taste for the book here.

Also coming up is the filming of my first music video. I'm taking a poll from Team Rebecca Day supporters to see which song from 'Now Here' they think would be the best for the video. So far, it's a tie for 'Which Little Miss' and 'Bulletproof.' We will be premiering this wonderful project in September. Invites and more info will be coming soon.

I am very excited to bring on board some very talented ladies in the media industries to work on these projects. You will be getting to know them more through my updates soon.

Last but not least, and the most active part of my career, is my performance schedule. Not only am I performing at places in Florida such as Nipper's Beach Grille, Aloft Hotel, Mellow Mushroom Fleming Island and more, I have a special performance happening at Jack Rabbits on July 17th at 8 p.m. I am proud to say I am opening for a great folk trio, Lauren Mann and The Fairly Odd Folk. Tickets can be acquired from me, or at Jack Rabbits.

You can catch me at Speckled Hen Tavern this Friday at 7 p.m. I'll be performing tunes by the bar. Thanks so much for being a part of this journey. I appreciate all of the support.

Upcoming Performances

This week is a busy one. I'm marketing my performances for this Thursday and Friday. On Thursday, I'm performing at Aloft Jacksonville Tapestry Park from 5:30-7 pm for their happy hour event. And on Friday, I'm performing solo, acoustic at Mellow Mushroom Fleming Island from 9 pm-12 am. For more info on my Friday performance at Mellow, click here.

I'm also getting promo materials together for my July 17th performance at Jack Rabbits here in Jacksonville. I'll be opening for a great folk trio, Lauren Mann and the fairly odd folk. Tickets are on sale now, and I am selling them directly as well. This night will be a special one. It's a bit different than what I usually do so I'd love to experience it with as many supporters as possible.

There's a lot of stuff going on so I will keep the updates coming. As always, check out my Facebook Artist page for the most up-to-date performance information.
