Life is like an Ecosystem

Taking time to reflect is a huge element to songwriting. A lot of times, reflections are the core of the song. I have found the the older I get, the more time I need to reflect because life never ceases to get crazier and crazier. Life is like the ecosystem, ever changing. But if one part goes missing, every other part is affected by it.

I have always feared change a bit. From a little kid not wanting to change schools, to a teenager not wanting to change my attitude, to an adult having a hard time accepting the constant change in mine, and everyone else's lives I'm connected to. There has been so much change in my life in the past two years it's been a bit of a whirl wind. The good news is, I get great songwriting material from it.

I am always searching for new ways to deal with life's stresses and the evolving stages one goes through. Though I have tried many techniques, the most effective still proves to be putting all my thoughts, feelings and emotions into music notes.

From aging generations to changes within yourself(mother nature gave me a slower metabolism for my 22nd birthday), it always seems easier to accept hard truths when I can get the words down on paper and put a melody to it.

Here's to hoping all of the changes in your life are positive, and that even though life can be tough as hell, always let life change you for the better, not the opposite.

If you'd like to hear some of my personal reflections, check out my show at Giuliano's this Saturday evening in Jacksonville, FL. My original music is always my most honest interpretation of life.

Saturday Evening Giuliano's Performance

I am performing at Giuliano's, a quaint Italian Restaurant on the Southside, this Saturday evening from 6-10 pm.   This restaurant features amazing food and a wonderful selection of beer and wines. It's a great place to come to if you would like to experience both a fun and relaxing atmosphere. I'll be performing solo acoustic, playing tunes ranging from Tom Petty's 'Free Fallin' to Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way.' And if you're a country music fan, I've got you covered with hits like, Sugarland's 'Stuck Like Glue' and Taylor Swift's 'Mean.' Also, you can always expect originals in each set that are featured on my debut EP, "Now Here,' available on iTunes, and Amazon here.

For more info on my Giuliano's performance, visit the Facebook events page here.

Friday Night Performance at Giuliano's

This Friday evening from 6-10 pm, I am performing solo, acoustic covers and original sets at Giuliano's Italian Restaurant in Jacksonville, FL at Baymeadows and Southside. This is a great Italian restaurant with fantastic food and a quaint bar. I'd love to show the venue some support so come on out and have a drink and some dinner if you're hungry, and spread the word.

I'll have some merchandise handy as well: CD's, T-shirts, koozies, etc, in case you'd like to pick one up. 'Now Here,' my debut all original music CD, is also available on iTunes, Amazon, Facebook, and plenty more. Thank you so much for all of the support of my music and performances. I hope to see you Friday.

Debut CD 'Now Here' Available on iTunes and Amazon

During the constant commotion of life I sometimes lose sight of why I started songwriting, performing, and singing in the first place. It's easy to get caught up in distractions like bills, bank accounts and the business side of my art. When I was younger, dreaming of the days I'd be performing for crowds and promoting my music, I never really took into consideration how much time is rolled into keeping a business afloat. But generally, when things start to veer off from the beauty of doing what I love, some small milestone brings me back to center.

There is nothing like a supporter messaging you on Facebook to let you know they purchased your EP on iTunes. Not only does the support fill my heart with joy, but I realize that I dreamed so much and worked so hard that I got my music up with thousands of other incredibly talented artists. The twelve year old songwriter from the past can't help but be emotional.

There is no doubt in my mind that these instances of motivation keep me grounded and give me hope. A hope that I can share my music with everyone and anyone willing to listen. A hope that my music will speak to other's hearts as they have spoken to mine. I might be a solo, acoustic artist, but it takes a team of amazing people to support my musical endeavors.

To those who have supported 'Now Here,' thank you so very much. To anyone else who is interested, you can purchase my debut CD right here on my website, or at iTunes and Amazon. And make sure to check out my artist page at here for the most up to date information.

New Features on Sites

I spend a  lot of time making sure the websites that feature my music are as up to date as possible. I run some of these sites(like this one), and others I do not.

I have a couple of updates that I'd love for you to check out on two different sites. I have redone a lot of my artist page on wqik.com. I have a radio station webpage there that features Indie artists, and I'm one of them. I'd love for you to check out the page and listen to the tunes so I can get my plays up. The more plays the better( I lost the previous plays I had when I uploaded new music. This was not supposed to happen). You can check out this page here.

Also, surf on over to my updated Facebook Artist Page and take a look at a couple of new apps I have installed, including a Store App and a Play App which allows you to stream some of my music before you purchase it.

Thanks so much for all of the social media support. Let me know what you think of the updates!

Live Music: This Weekend's Performances

I'll be performing solo, acoustic music at two great spots in NE Florida this weekend. Tomorrow night I'll be playing at Speckled Hen, a great restaurant with food you won't get anywhere else. I'll be playing your favorite tunes and plenty of originals by the bar area from 7-10 pm.

On Saturday evening, I'll be performing at a great wine bar in Julington Creek, Cork and Keg. Come on out and enjoy a glass of wine or a new beer you've never tried before. I'll be performing inside, but outside seating is available also.

I'd love to see the fine people of Jacksonville out tomorrow night. Come get your live music fix.
